Prescriptions

The Grove Eye Care team can provide prescriptions for contact lenses, eyeglasses, specialty lenses, and low vision aids.

Our doctors use their experience along with the latest high tech diagnostic equipment to provide the most accurate prescriptions possible. Even patients who cannot give full responses during testing can be effectively treated, including young children, handicapped or non-verbal individuals, and non-English speaking patients.

Eyeglass Prescriptions & Speciality Lenses

We provide the most comprehensive eye exam to ensure all patients receive the right prescription.

Specialty lenses require skill to properly evaluate and prescribe. The staff at Grove Eye Care have the experience to determine the optimal prescription, material, and lens design to make sure you achieve the best and most efficient vision possible.

Contact Lens Prescriptions

There are two major types of contact lenses, soft lenses and Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) lenses. Both have advantages and disadvantages.

Most patients get used to soft lenses quickly, but patients with astigmatism or those needing bifocal correction usually see better with RGP lenses than with soft lenses.

Once patients adapt to their lenses, both types of lenses are equally comfortable. Our doctors can help determine the right type of lens for you. We consider factors including your vision needs, hobbies and even work environment to help you make the best lens selection.

Custom Contact Lenses

Every eye is different. While many patients see better with non-custom contact lenses, others see better with custom lenses individually designed using detailed measurements of the patients corneal curvature. These lenses can be designed to correct many types of vision problems, including astigmatism and bifocal lenses.

Continuous Wear Lenses

In the past, wearing contact lenses longer than 18 hours or so per day was a recipe for disaster. With the release of new soft contact lenses this is no longer true. Patients can now enjoy up to 30 continuous days of lens wear comfortably and safely. Ask about continuous wear lenses at your next appointment.
