Dr. Ashley Parsons was born and raised in a small town outside of Charleston, West Virginia. She graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in biology and went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. During her clinical training, she gained specialized experience in ocular disease while working at Mercy Medical Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, and the Richmond Optometric Society. In 2022, her dedication to patient care and excellence in the field earned her recognition as a “Top Doc” by Richmond Magazine. Since joining Grove Eye Care in 2014, Dr. Parsons has taken on the role of Director of Optometric Services. She has extensive practice in managing ocular disease, with a particular focus on glaucoma.
In recent years, Dr. Parsons has developed a strong interest in dry eye disease, helping spearhead Grove Eye Care’s Dry Eye Rejuvenation Clinic. Dr. Parsons is dedicated to providing her patients with the latest and most effective dry eye treatment options, including intense pulsed light and radiofrequency technology. She is also passionate about aesthetic optometry, offering a range of eye rejuvenation treatments designed to help patients look and feel their best. Above all, Dr. Parsons is committed to helping each patient achieve the clearest and most comfortable vision possible.
Outside of the office, Dr. Parsons loves to travel and spend time with her husband, David, and daughter, LillyAnn. A self-proclaimed beach bum, she’s always looking for a reason to be near the water with her friends and family.
