Dr. Laura Schwartz, who was born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2013. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 2018. She completed clinical rotations at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland working with active and retired military members and at Paul Vision Institute in Wilmington, North Carolina performing low vision examinations.
After graduating from optometry school, she completed a residency in pediatric optometry and vision therapy and rehabilitation at Northwest Eye Care Professionals in Portland, Oregon in which she gained experience working with the pediatric population and patients with traumatic brain injuries. She then went on to complete a second residency in primary eye care with an emphasis in ocular disease at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Schwartz joined Grove Eye Care in the summer of 2021 and is excited to be back in Virginia after several years of being in various parts of the country. Dr. Schwartz’s areas of interest include ocular disease, binocular vision disorders, and contact lenses.
