Dr. Kelly Nguyen is a Virginia native, raised in Fairfax County in Northern Virginia. She is thrilled to return to the Richmond area, where she completed her BS Degree in Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014. Dr. Nguyen was inspired to pursue optometry after working with excellent doctors in the Richmond area. She received her Doctorate in Optometry with honors from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She also represented her school in a country-wide optometry school competition called the Quiz Bowl.
Dr. Nguyen has served several community health centers in the Boston area and also completed clinical rotations at the Boston Veteran’s Affairs hospital and at University of Virginia’s Ophthalmology department. Her rotations have given her an excellent foundational knowledge of ocular disease, advanced ocular imaging, dry eye treatments, keratoconus and specialty contacts.
Dr. Nguyen joined Grove Eye Care in the summer of 2022 and looks forward to sharing her love of optometry with her patients. Her interests include anterior segment disease, retinal diseases, and specialty contacts.
